TMSB Services Introduces ACCOUNTKEEPER™ Brand and New Standards for Outsourced Financial Management

New brand brings bookkeeping, payroll and controller services together under a service model built around U.S.-based delivery, protected technology use and professional accountability

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — September 1, 2026 — TMSB Services, LLC announced the formal introduction of its ACCOUNTKEEPER™ brand following an important milestone in the federal trademark process for the name.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued a Notice of Allowance for the ACCOUNTKEEPER trademark in August 2026, advancing the company’s effort to establish Accountkeeper as a distinctive brand for bookkeeping, payroll processing, financial recordkeeping and outsourced financial management services.

More than a new name, Accountkeeper is being developed around a defined set of standards intended to address a changing marketplace for outsourced services.

“Accountkeeper represents what we believe a modern financial services relationship should look like,” said Timothy Miller, owner of TMSB Services. “Businesses should know who is handling their financial information, where that work is being performed, how their information is being protected and who is ultimately accountable for the result.”

The Accountkeeper Standard

Accountkeeper is designed around several core principles that will guide the development of the brand and the services delivered under it.

U.S.-Based Service Delivery

Accountkeeper is committed to keeping client work onshore and performed within the United States.

As offshore outsourcing has become increasingly common throughout the bookkeeping industry, Accountkeeper takes a different approach. Businesses entrusting a provider with payroll records, banking information, financial statements and other sensitive data should have transparency into where their work is being performed and who has access to that information.

Protected and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Accountkeeper embraces technology and artificial intelligence when those tools can improve efficiency, accuracy and client service—but not at the expense of confidentiality.

The Accountkeeper standard emphasizes controlled and protected AI use, with safeguards surrounding the handling of confidential client financial information and restrictions against indiscriminately exposing client data to public or uncontrolled AI systems.

Technology is intended to support professionals, not replace judgment or eliminate accountability.

Human Accountability

Accountkeeper services remain grounded in meaningful human involvement.

Financial records, reporting and bookkeeping decisions require context that cannot always be reduced to automation. Accountkeeper maintains professional oversight of the processes and clear responsibility for the work performed on behalf of each client.

“Technology should make good bookkeeping and advisory professionals more effective,” Miller said. “It should not create a situation where nobody can explain how something happened, who reviewed it or where a client’s information went.”

Reliable Financial Information

The Accountkeeper model extends beyond transaction entry.

Services are structured around maintaining reliable records, completing recurring financial closes, producing useful financial reporting and helping management understand what is happening within the business.

For growing companies, that may include bookkeeping, payroll support, reconciliations, management reporting, process oversight and controller-level support delivered as part of a coordinated financial management relationship.

Security, Confidentiality and Transparency

Businesses provide firms with access to some of their most sensitive information.

Accountkeeper therefore places particular emphasis on responsible access, confidentiality, appropriate technology controls and transparency regarding how client information is handled.

Clients should be able to understand not only what services are being performed, but also how those services are being delivered.

A Professional Alternative to Building an Internal Department

Accountkeeper is designed primarily for small and midsize businesses that have outgrown informal or owner-managed bookkeeping but do not require, or cannot justify, the cost of building a complete internal finance department.

The service model allows businesses to access bookkeeping, payroll support, financial reporting and controller capabilities at a level appropriate for their size and complexity.

“Many businesses reach a point where their books become too important to remain an administrative afterthought,” Miller said. “At the same time, hiring a bookkeeper, payroll specialist, manager and controller internally may make no economic sense. Accountkeeper is intended to fill that gap.”

Building a Recognizable Standard

The long-term vision for Accountkeeper extends beyond creating another bookkeeping brand.

TMSB Services is developing Accountkeeper as a recognizable identity associated with a consistent standard of financial information management—one centered on professionalism, accountability, security, domestic service delivery and responsible technology use.

The company believes those distinctions will become increasingly important as automation, artificial intelligence and global outsourcing continue to reshape the bookkeeping profession.

“The bookkeeping industry is changing rapidly,” Miller said. “We believe there is an opportunity to embrace that change without abandoning the trust and accountability that should come with handling another company’s finances. That is what we want the Accountkeeper name to represent.”

The ACCOUNTKEEPER trademark application was filed by TMSB Services, LLC on December 30, 2025. Following the USPTO’s Notice of Allowance, the company is continuing the federal registration process while expanding use and development of the Accountkeeper™ brand.
